Matthew and I took our Yaktrax for a test run after work tonight. I bought us each a pair at Runner's Roost on Colorado Blvd. a couple of weeks ago, but between the stomach flu and the negative temps we've had for the last few days - we're just now getting around to trying them out. I have talked to many people who swear by them and they definitely lived up to my expectations and Matthew's (which is an accomplishment). My footing was much better in the snow and they gave me a lot more confidence on the icy streets and sidewalks. I also had Maya leashed around my waist. Last winter I often felt like she might pull me down on an icy patch. My Yaktrax gave me a lot more leverage against her 70 lbs on the slippery spots. I got used to them after about 5 minutes and they didn't even feel too weird on the dry pavement, just a little noisy.
