Today was Matthew's first ever hill climb on his road bike. He's been talking a lot with his co-workers about different rides around Denver and today we decided to tackle Lookout Mountain near Golden.
As advised, we parked in the Safeway parking lot on Jackson St. and took off on our ride. I really had no idea what we were in for, but it was a great ride.
Near the summit we saw two guys doing the decent on skateboards. I asked Matthew if he thought their mothers knew where they were. Matthew suggested if his own mother knew where he was she would be concerned for his personal safety. I realized it was probably not a good time to make him aware of my idea to come back to ride to the summit again next Sunday.
Taking in the view from the top was pretty spectacular. It's crazy to live in a place where you drive home from work in a blizzard and two days later it's 60 degrees and cycling weather.
