Emma is fairly easy going, however, she does assert herself when she feels it's necessary. Case in point - most of the time she really would prefer to feed herself (yes, mom, I can just picture you smiling ear to ear over this stubbornness:)). This presents a problem when a spoon is required for whatever she is eating. As a compromise, I'll give her something that she can feed herself for a bit and usually she finds this satisfactory.
Yesterday I gave her a big chunk of mango to gnaw on. She whittled it down to a soggy mess and even carried it with her to the bathtub.
