Superbowl!

Hey Everyone! I'd like to invite everyone over for Superbowl Sunday to watch the Broncos beat the...oh wait. Sadly, not this year..BUT next year, I'd like to invite everyone over to watch the Broncos beat whoever!

I guess I have a year to get a few house projects I've been thinking about completed before the big shindig:

• Back door (Lisa insists this is priority #1 - I'm not so sure when reviewing the other items on the list, but I'm not going to tell her that) - maybe a screen door with a dog door feature!
• Can lights in basement
• wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling built-in bookcase with space for flatscreen TV (Sony Bravia LCD) and Mac Mini on basement's west wall.
  

I'm also planning on a big sanding, scraping and puttying campaign to ready the hallway, bedroom and staircase for painting. This will definitely take awhile, unless Blaine and/or Brad are involved.

Big plans for the garden as well: I told Lisa that I decided against building a fence to separate the lawn from the garden (reserving the right to change my mind, after Maya has a hay day in my garden boxes). We're lucky enough to have a new composter for our kitchen and garden scraps (more on this in a future post) -- its ultimate home will be in the garden, so I don't want to have to climb a fence just to get to it. Also, I think I'll spend more time in the garden if I don't have to do a triple-lindy just to pick some squash! Basically, the garden is going to be a big feature of our small, humble back yard - and the idea of erecting a fence to separate this feature from the rest of the yard doesn't make much long term sense.
